ARRA Resources at Duke

Duke University has instituted procedural changes to facilitate applications to ARRA-funded programs and to ensure compliance with ARRA reporting requirements. ARRA institutiional information has been transmitted through Communications to the Duke Community.

What Can You Do to Prepare for ARRA Funding and Reporting? Investigators, grant administrators and others are encouraged to take the following actions:

  • Notify your Business Office/Grant Manager immediately if you are contacted by an program officer to consider funding of a previously scored application under ARRA.
  • Assist your colleagues in their efforts to participate in ARRA funding opportunities.
  • Subscribe to the Duke Funding Alert Newsletter, which is the primary means for Duke faculty and staff to learn about ARRA funding activities.
  • Be prepared for Just In Time requests. Turnaround periods will be very short. See the related offices to learn abut ARRA-specific processes for IACUC*, IRB*, and other just-in-time needs. Contact the ARRA Response Team if you have problems or questions.
  • Consider your hiring and staffing needs carefully. Duke Human Resources has developed an accelerated process for hiring of certain research staff for ARRA-funded projects. Hiring managers or faculty can learn about the processes at ARRA Jobs at Duke.
  • Prepare for the stringent quarterly reporting required by ARRA-funded grants. Quarterly reports will be required of ARRA-funded jobs created or maintained, among other information. Systems are being developed to make reporting streamlined and consistent across the University. Review the Award Terms and Conditions associated with your ARRA program to become familiar with its requirements.
